You know there are some major advantages to living in a small town. I like the walk to work (5minutes), when you go into a shop people know you by name and if they don’t remember your name they will at least acknowledge you and care what you’re interested in. I liked it when my son was younger that there is no anonymity (spelling?) in a small town, if he did something – I would hear about it.
Yesterday, one of the courier guys had a package addressed to our house for my husband. He knew I would be at the shop and brought it to me rather than leaving it on the porch. And thats not the first time they’ve done that. I’ve even had one of the guys track me down at home on my day off because he had a large order for the store and would meet me at the shop to unload it. Very cool!
Today though – Noro sock yarn came in, the box still had a Japanese sticker on it from it’s trip. It’s going into the computer now and then I am going to play with colours.
Thank you guys!

Isn’t that a song? Don’t ask me to sing it but I almost could – as we speak the Noro Kureyon sock yarn is in a box with my name on it in a truck!! It might be here tomorrow but for sure by Friday!! My rep called and it finally showed up and has been packed off to its new owners – YEAH!
Other good news – had a lovely man in my shop today who makes hand turned Drop Spindles – he is going to make some for my shop – double YEAH!!
Happy days are here again! O right – I have to make sale signs – keep your fingers crossed that the computer and I are playing nicely together today.

I don’t know what it is doing wherever you are, but here it is snowing! I just checked and the calendar really does say that next Tuesday is the first day of April and the long range forecast is for more snow that day – yeah.
So, lets pretend it really is Spring – Shall We? As of Tuesday it will be Debbie Bliss month here at the shop and we’re going to bring the month in with a bang!! All DB wools will be 30% off for the month! BUT for April Fools Day – ALL Debbie Bliss stuff will be 30% off for the day. Thats Cottons too! Hows that for thumbing our nose at the weather? And thats NOT pretending.

This is Lizard Ridge, originally from Knitty Fall 2006. The pattern is for hand-knitting but our knitting machine genius has converted the pattern to the machine. This was done on the Lk150 – as far as I’m concerned one of the easiest and nicest machines to work on. Cari is going to be teaching this on Tuesday, April 29th at the shop! YEAH!!
If you haven’t checked out the latest calendar of classes – you should.

Just thought I’d show you a couple of pictures of some of the classes we’ve had at the shop lately. We have a lot of fun at the classes and there are some great ones coming up!
This is Linda with our Crochet class, this was the beginner class. Since then we’ve all moved on to doing a scarf.
And here is Kara with the Thrummed Mitten class. It looks like she is doing her exercises at the same time but she is making the thrums.
Now we’re playing in the water, felting flowers.
This picture is just to tempt you. We are going to be doing a Mitred scarf but this is Janelle’s QUEEN SIZE bed cover she is working on which will be the same technique.
Check the newsletter for info on all the classes.
