Zena invites you…
OK, I know, I’ve been really bad at blogging regularly. Part of my excuse is that my computer keeps hiding pictures on me. It’s the truth! I took all these lovely pictures of Sally in the shop for the Fashion Show and downloaded them to the laptop and now they’ve gone AWOL. I know they’re there but I can’t find them, when I do I will post some.
Anyways, Sally’s Closet is going great. All the pieces are in the shop until June 30th. Check them out on the website and then come on in and try on any ones you want. You can bid online or in the shop and as many times as you want. There are a couple (I had to limit myself) that I would like. It was great to try them on because the ones I really like were not the ones I thought I would want. You just never know.
The evening was a lot of fun with Sally. We had a couple of girls as models but by the end of the evening everyone was playing dressup and Sally was right in there helping and suggesting and just being her lovely self.
Then last weekend was the dyeing workshop at Shelridge Farms. We’ve already booked a date for late September – this is habit forming. We had a lot of fun – 18 of us! A couple of ladies were singing as they dyed at one point – it was hilarious! I dyed all 6 skeins to match a pair of Birks I have – they are brown with orange daisies – I love them but they really don’t go with a whole lot (the birks that is). I think my yarn is going to be a sleeveless turtleneck shell. I did a tension swatch on the knitting machine last night and now it is resting.
This weekend May 31 is Mennonite Relief Sale in town – I forget what the numbers are but the town is a zoo – people come from all over. Should be busy – if people can find parking.
Next big thing around here is World Wide Knit in Public Day! That is Saturday, June 14th. Tonight there will be pledge sheets on the website that you can download. Get your teams of 3 together and lets see what we can do to shake up the area with our knitting.
The whole day is going to be a Breast Cancer Fundraiser! We will be having a silent auction, mini workshops for anyone who puts a loonie in the bucket (or more would be great). Bring your knitting, chairs, sunscreen (cause I’ve ordered good weather for the day) and prepare to have a great time.

3 in 3 days
WOW! Ok, 3 in 3 days isn’t a streak but it’s a start. I will try to write a bit more often though.
I spent more of yesterday rearranging yarns and playing and NOT starting anything – it is so hard!
We had an Advanced Beginner knitting class lastnight, I wasn’t teaching which is nice. Kara is an amazing teacher and this class is on the do-over list – it was great.
I’m expecting a delivery of handmade drop spindles today, which is really good timing considering that the class is on Saturday. Shelly is teaching this and I can’t wait for a refresher class. Thats one (of many) upsides of owning my own business – I get to sit in on all the coolest classes.
Can you believe it’s just over a week till Woolly Thoughts is going to be here? I am so thrilled that we are doing this. I really need to ponder what I’m going to knit it out of. I’m thinking it will turn into a pillow top to go with the Boris chair.
Back to rearranging.
