Shall We Knit? blog

all work and no play…

tom-at-play.JPG  keep-it-up.JPG  This is Tom at play.   A friend’s son was getting married and we went to the Stag & Doe for a bit, and they had games – this bike didn’t have the power that Tom is used to but he had fun anyways.  The idea was to go as slow as possible – not one of his favorite things – bikes are built for speed!

Rowan

16 boxes of Rowan just came in – I can’t even open them because I tore apart the front room yesterday to rearrange the baby and sock yarn.  And tonight we have Alfie coming for her top down sleeve class.  Must resist – cannot be sidetracked by Rowan – must resist…maybe

Noro!

A slow boat from Japan has finally landed!  I got some of the new Noro in today!  They have a new DK – Maiko is Silk, Mohair and Wool – ymmm!  AND Silk Garden sock yarn is here!  I’ve just emptied the boxes so will post pictures tomorrow.

This week – starting on Wednesday is New Hamburg’s Sidewalk sales and starting Friday is Morparfest – lots of reasons to come to town.  And Saturday would be a great day to come see us – We have knit in public cause we can’t join the Knit in the Park in Waterloo – as much as I would like to.

And how about a free demo on some knitting software?  Saturday, 1-3  come and prepared to be wowed.

Brunch with Ilga

We just finalized details – Ilga Leja is coming on Sunday, September 14th for a Brunch workshop.  The class is Glorious Garter and if you’ve ever had a chance to take a class with this lady you know how much you’re going to enjoy it.  If you haven’t then here’s your chance.

Ilga is going to have a booth at the KW Knitters Fair so be sure and stop by and see all her delicious designs.

That is the amount of groceries we brought to the Wilmot Family Resource Centre food bank 2 weeks ago.  All donated by our regular Knit n’ Chat bunch!  Thank you all, you are a great group and have a heart to match your talent.
